On November 19th, National Tournament play began for the #2 Heartland Volleyball team as they were set to face the #15 Sauk Valley Community College Skyhawks. The Hawks were ready to put their best foot forward and did just that, sweeping the match in three sets (25-15, 25-16, 25-21).
    The team showcased its best selves with a collective team effort on both offense and defense. Totaling 42 kills and 58 digs, all sides of the court got a piece of the action. Freshman
Addison Pacha showed comfort on the court, collecting 10 kills and a .400 attacking percentage. Also adding 10 kills to the match were sophomores
Graci Junis and
Libby Detweiler. Both front row attackers were able to contribute in other parts of the play with 13 digs and 3 blocks, respectively. The defense was strong throughout the entirety of the match, with Middle
Halle Moomaw adding four blocks to her total of 136.0 blocks on the season. Rounding out the defense as always, Libero
Sam Molenhouse with 16 digs, making her total for the season 690 digs.
    The Hawks advance to the Quarter-Finals with #10 St. Johns River State Community College standing in the way of the team advancing to the Final Four. The match is set for 7:30 on November 20th.
