    The #3 Heartland Hawks took on #2 Northeast Mississippi Community College at the NJCAA DII National Tournament for the National Title. The Hawks were fighting on their last leg entering the match and were ready to compete from the kickoff.
    The first half of the 90-minute match was scoreless as NWMCC held possession of the ball for the majority of the match. The second half started off the same, until
Valeria Agudelo found the back of the net to put the Hawks ahead at 1-0. The Hawks were able to hold the lead until the 86th minute, when the Tigers tied the match, making the score even at one. With only two minutes to go, a foul was called on #7
Paula Igual, leading to a penalty kick, which put the Tigers ahead 2-1.
Alice Arrigucci sat in the goal for the Hawks and collected 9 saves for the team.
    The Hawks were unable to respond as they fell short of the National Title. Even though they fell short, the team still finished with an impressive 2nd place finish and was able to put up amazing numbers during the season. Heartland Women's Soccer finished 17-4-1 outscoring their opponents with a total of 106 goals to their 15. The team added 98 assists, making only 8 goals unassisted. Both goalies,
Maria Tomas and Arrigucci, made a total of 58 saves on the season. The Hawks were able to make quite an impressive run to finish out their 2025 campaign.
