Heartland Soccer Splits Road Trip to St. Charles CC

The men's squad came out on top 2-1, with goals from forwards Gabriele Proietti and Logan Lelm. The women's team lost 1-0. Goalkeeper Claramalia Pederson made seven saves on eight shots on goal.

Men's Soccer: RV Heartland def. St. Charles, 2-1
Lelm's goal came in the 55th minute on an assists from Braxton Orrick. Proietti's goal came in the 85th minute and ended up being a pivotal one as St. Charles scored in the 89th minute. Goalkeeper Nathan Serra had another win with seven saves on eight SOG. While center midfielder Osiel Bedolla didn't score, he peppered the net with four shots and two SOG. Heartland ended with 14 total shots and seven SOG.

Women's Soccer: No. 18 St. Charles def. No. 2 Heartland, 1-0
The women's team had their chances, but we're unable to put one in the net. Returning from injury, forward Ava LoFollete put together a solid game with four shots and two SOG. CAM Jasmin Geronimo, left wing Josy Rogel and forward Desiree Fassin continued their strong play by combining for 10 shots and five SOG.

The men's team will play again this Saturday at the Corn Crib vs. Western Iowa Tech at 11:00 a.m. The women's team will play again next Thursday at the Corn Crib vs. No. 19 Northeast CC.
