The Hawks took first place in the Cougar Fall Classic this week with a team score of 7-over-par across two rounds. Heartland was led by
Luca Bianchi,
Grant Sherrick and
Maddux Quick, who all showed up with strong individual performances.
T1 – Luca Bianchi (-8)
Bianchi was lights out during the tournament, firing 8-under-par – the best from a Heartland Hawk this season. Round one got out to a hot start with an eagle on hole three. On the back nine, he fired three birdies in the first four holes to propel himself to a 3-under-par finish. Round two was an even better round for him. He had three birdies on the front nine, another eagle on the back nine and two more birdies for a score of 5-under-par. His performance got him tied for first place.
T12 – Grant Sherrick (+6)
Sherrick's tournament was a tale of two rounds. Round one was tough, with Sherrick only shooting birdie on one hole and bogey or double bogey on eight other holes. Sherrick responded with a great second round with six birdies to give him a final score of 6-over-par.
T12 – Maddux Quick (+6)
Quick, like Sherrick, finished his tournament with a score of 6-over-par. Quick also capitalized on a big second day with four birdies compared to day one that had just one birdie.
T20 – Brady Huskey (+7)
T28 – Joey Trupiano (+8)
T45 – Coen Pennington (+12)
T70 – Myles Mitchell (+18)
