    Finishing out the 2025 NJCAA DII National Tournament, the Heartland Hawks competed in the semi-final and championship matches against #6 Cowley County Community College and #4 Kansas City Kansas Community College, respectively. The Hawks were looking to make history in the program, as their best finish came from last year's season, when they finished 3rd overall.
    Standing in the way of that history, #6 Cowley, whom they lost to in the Semi-Final in the previous year. The tides turned as the Tigers were swept by the Hawks 3-0 (25-13, 25-22, 25-12). The team came out strong from the start and had control of the match from the first serve. The offense came through with 41 kills and 11 aces. Freshman
Addison Pacha led the charge with 11 kills. Sophomore
Graci Junis followed with 7 kills and added more attacks from the service line with 4 aces. Setter
Brooklyn Brennan helped out on the attempts with 28 assists. Becoming a wall for the match was Middle
Halle Moomaw with 6.0 blocks to finish the match. With the victory, the Hawks turned to a rematch of last year's 3rd place win against Kansas City, Kansas Community College, but for even greater stakes.
    The championship match was set for Saturday, November 22nd, and the atmosphere matched the intensity of the emotions around the match. Either way, the Heartland Hawks would be securing their spot in history, but the team was going to do anything but lose that night. Once again, from the jump, the Hawks showed dominance, control, and balance on the court. Working across all fields, the offense and defense were solid. Sophomore
Libby Detweiler, Junis, and Pacha each contributed 9 kills apiece, with the team collecting 43 total kills at the end of the match. Moomaw got up once again with 5.0 blocks, and finishing out the defense was Libero
Sam Molenhouse, whose 23 digs secured her the title of All-Time dig leader for Heartland Community College. Also receiving special honors was #2 Brennan, who earned the honor of Player of the Tournament. The Hawks took the match 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-23) and were crowned the 2025 NJCAA DII National Champions.
    The win awarded them a 40-4 record to finish the season. The Hawks were undefeated at home (15-0) and in conference (6-0) with a .909 winning percentage. Their set wins for the season totaled 145-20 as they swept their opponents in 34 matches. The 2025 Hawks more than proved themselves throughout the year and have rightfully deserved the Title as the National Champions.
