Alumni and friends of the Heartland Community College Athletics program gathered Friday as the department hosted its annual Heartland Athletics Golf Outing.
The event took place at El Paso Golf Club, where more than 90 golfers, including former Hawks, alumni, and supporters of the program, participated in an 18-hole scramble. The outing provided another opportunity to bring together the Heartland Athletics community and celebrate the many people who continue to support the department.
The day began with the annual ceremonial tee shot from former Heartland student-athletes, featuring
Annabelle Fortin, a Heartland Volleyball National Champion, and
Jack Wenzel, a Heartland Golf National Runner-Up.
Despite rainy conditions throughout the day, participants battled through the weather and completed their rounds while enjoying time with fellow Hawks and supporters.

Luke Wing expressed his gratitude for the continued support of the outing and the impact it has on the future of Heartland Athletics.
"Really enjoyed getting together with all of our HCC athletic supporter. I especially enjoyed the participation from our alumni – even if the alumni golf teams dominated the rest of the field! I look forward to the continued growth of the event as we strive to raise scholarship funds for our student-athletes."
The annual golf outing continues to serve as a way to connect the Heartland Athletics community while supporting the continued success of Hawks programs.
