    On November 20th, the Heartland Hawks participated in their Quarter-Final against the #10 St. Johns River State Community College Vikings. With the final match of the day, both teams were hopeful to make it to the Semi-Final match on the 21st.

    The Hawks started off strong and stayed consistent throughout the entire match. Leading the team offensively, sophomore Libby Detweiler hitting .500 with 15 kills, adding to the Hawks' total of 43 kills. Graci Junis showed up on both ends of the court with 12 kills and 13 digs. Freshman Addison Pacha rounded out the offense with 9 kills. The anchor for the defense, working as she always does, with 25 digs by Libero Sam Molenhouse. Once the team caught momentum, it was hard to slow them down as the Hawks took the Vikings in the end, 3-1 (25-12, 25-14, 18-25, 25-22).

    With the big win over St. John's, the Heartland Hawks now advance to the Semi-Finals, where they have the opportunity to make history for the program. #2 Heartland will face #6 Cowley on November 21st at 4:00 PM.
