After winning the Region 24 Tournament championship on Saturday, Heartland baseball enters the NJCAA DII World Series as the top overall seed as announced on the NJCAA Network on Tuesday. The tournament, which runs May 27-June 2/3 at Enid, Okla.'s David Allen Memorial Ballpark, will feature 10 teams from across the country. The Hawks will battle the winner of eighth-seeded Lackawanna (PA) and ninth-seeded Glendale (AZ) at 7:15 pm CT on Sunday.

Heartland currently leads the nation in runs scored with 710 runs, with the second-place team (Southeastern) scoring 592 total runs. The Hawks are also at the top in RBI's (606), team batting average (.388) and team on-base percentage (.509). Head coach
