Box Score 4 The Hawks picked up their fourth straight MWAC sweep today as they took down Spoon River College in four games this weekend. With the wins, the Hawks take their winning streak to 16 games and remain a perfect 16-0 in MWAC play. Meanwhile, the Hawks overall record improves to 24-6.
The Hawks would only need six innings to bring home the win in game one of the weekend as they defeated the Snappers 12-2. Game one starter
Reese Dutton threw all six innings for the Hawks allowing just two runs on three hits. Dutton fanned eight as he took home his fourth win of the season.Â
Sophomore
Bryce Brown led the offense in game one with a whopping six runs batted in. Brown smashed a double and a grand slam in the game.
Sam Antonacci also chipped in three RBIs and cranked his tenth homerun of the season in game one.Â
In game two the Hawks would only need five innings to earn their second win of the day by a score of 11-1. Game two starter
Jason Buhl allowed just one run and one hit through his five innings of work. Buhl struck out six as he also earned his fourth win of the season on the bump.Â
Freshman
Jacyk Uehling drove in four runs for the Hawks and legged out an inside the park homerun to score the game winning run.
Bobby Atkinson also picked up three hits and three RBIs in the game.Â

The Hawks then traveled to Canton for the second half of the series with the Snappers.Â
In game three of the weekend the Hawks found themselves trailing by seven runs headed to the third inning. However, the Hawks would outscore the Snappers 19 runs to one over the final four innings of the game and bring home a 19-8 win.Â
Sophomore
Mitchel Sampson threw the final four and a third innings for the Hawks. Sampson allowed just one hit and one run as he earned his first win of the season on the mound.Â
The offensive outburst was led by Atkinson who picked up five RBIs and three hits, including a triple.
Jeremy Figueroa also chipped in three RBIs for the Hawks, while Brandenburg and Antonacci each drove in a pair.Â
In the final game of the series and of the weekend, the Hawks would take home a 7-4 win to secure the series sweep. Starting on the mound for the Hawks in the final game of the weekend was
Teague Conrad. Conrad threw five and two thirds innings allowing just three runs on four hits. Conrad fanned four as he took home his second win of the season.
Connor Best threw two and a third innings giving up just two hits and a run, while picking up four strikeouts. Recording the final three outs and earning his third save of the season was freshman,
Jake Jakubowski.Â
Riley Rundquist and Atkinson each had two hits, drove in a run, and scored a run for the Hawks. Figueroa was on base four times with two hits and a pair of walks.Â
The Hawks' offense put up a whopping 49 runs in their four game series with the Snappers this weekend.Â
The Hawks are back in action tomorrow as they travel to Moline for a non-conference double-header against Black Hawk College. The Braves, who compete in NJCAA Region IV, will bring a 15-5 record into Monday's games. After a day off, the Hawks will then travel to River Grove for a nine inning match-up against Triton College. Also members of Region IV, the Trojans sit at a record of 10-12.Â
The Hawks will continue MWAC play this weekend as they host Vincennes for a pair of double-headers. The Trailblazers currently sit in third place in the conference with an overall record of 14-16 and an MWAC record of 6-6. The first double-header is set for Friday at 2 and 4 PM.
