Box Score 4 The Hawks softball team began MWAC play this week with double-headers against Lewis and Clark Community College and John Wood Community College. The Hawks picked up three wins and dropped one game to bring their overall record to 6-6.
In Tuesday's double-header against Lewis and Clark the Hawks took home 10-2 and 7-6 wins. Freshman
Autumn Lage led the offense on the day going 5 for 7 while adding four RBIs and a pair of runs. Sophomore
Charlie Sartoris also had a strong day at the plate going 5 for 8 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Freshman
Addisyn Miller cranked her second homerun of the season while scoring four runs for the Hawks.Â
Kaci Shickel,
Blair Jacobus, and
Addisyn Miller each threw four innings in Tuesday's games. Jacobus picked up her third win of the season in the circle as she allowed just one earned run over four innings. Shickel didn't allow a single earned run through her four innings of work on Tuesday.Â
The Hawks continued MWAC play today as they hosted John Wood for two games. The Hawks split with the Blazers, taking home a 5-0 win in game one and dropping game two 7-4. In game one, Shickel threw a complete game shut-out in the circle. Shickel allowed just two hits while fanning six as she picked up her second win of the season.Â
Freshman
Danielle Bogle led the offense on the day going 7 for 8 with a pair of RBIs and three runs scored. Miller picked up a team high three RBIs on the day as she hit her third homerun of the season.Â
The Hawks are back in action on Sunday as they host Spoon River College in a double-header set for 1 PM and 3 PM. Sunday's games can be live streamed
