Heartland finished their own invitational at the Weibring Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday at a fourth-place team finish with a total score of 39-over-par across the two-day tourney. Leading the charge for the Hawks was
Brady Huskey, who finished with a score of 3-over-par and tied for fifth place.
Luca Bianchi and
Greer Peters also delivered solid tournaments.
T5 – Brady Huskey (+3)
Huskey turned in quite an impressive opening collegiate tournament with a score of 71 (E) on day one and a score of 74 (+3) on day two. Huskey was very efficient on day one. He bogeyed two holes, but saved face by firing birdies on two holes on the back nine before ending his round at even par. Day two was an up and down round with a bogey and double bogey on the first four holes, three birdies in the next six holes, and then three bogeys on the last five holes to turn a score of 74.
13 – Luca Bianchi (+7)
Bianchi got his sophomore campaign started off on the right foot by a 13
th place finish at the Heartland Invitational. Bianchi made his money on day one, by shooting birdie on three holes to end up at even par. It was a rocky second day for Bianchi but he still managed to shoot 7-over-par to wrap up his tournament.
T14 – Greer Peters (+8)
Freshman
Greer Peters put together a solid opening tourney with a score of eight-over-par. Peters had an opening round score of seven-over-par before settling in on day two with a score of 1-over-par after shooting three birdies and scoring par on 11 other holes.
