    Over the weekend, the Hawks hosted teams at home for two full days of strong competition on Friday and Saturday. The women's volleyball team put together a dominant performance, finishing tournament play with a perfect 4-0 record without dropping a single set. From start to finish, the squad showcased consistency, energy, and composure, controlling the pace of each match and never allowing opponents to find a rhythm. The flawless run not only highlights the team's depth and chemistry but also builds strong momentum heading into the next stretch of the season.
    Danville Area Community College was first on the list as the Hawks showed dominance over the Jaguars with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-12) victory. Heartland's balanced attack was on full display, with
Addison Pacha leading the way with 13 kills, followed by
Libby Detweiler with 10 and
Annabelle Fortin adding 7. From the service line,
Sam Molenhouse and
Kayleigh Keim each tallied 3 aces, while
Amanda Mumma chipped in 1. At the net,
Halle Moomaw led the blocking effort with 2.0 blocks, supported by Detweiler and
Chase Grevengoed with 1.0 apiece. Setting the tone offensively,
Maria Orozco dished out 31 assists, with Molenhouse contributing 6 more. On defense, Molenhouse anchored the back row with 20 digs, joined by Orozco's 10 and Fortin's 9, rounding out a strong all-around team effort.
    After a game break, Rock Valley stood ready to compete to finish out the first day of the tournament. Heartland rolled past Rock Valley in straight sets, led by
Graci Junis with 11 kills,
Halle Moomaw's 4 blocks, and Orozco's 21 assists. Molenhouse paced the defense with 16 digs, while Junis and
Brooklyn Brennan each added 2 aces to help secure the sweep. The Hawks walked away 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-10), rounding out the day with two sweeps, ready to continue the streak going into tomorrow.
    Heartland earned a decisive sweep over John A. Logan (25-22, 25-11, 25-12), finishing with 34 kills, 11 aces, 10 blocks, 30 assists, and 44 digs while hitting .198 as a team. Pacha led the attack with 8 kills, followed closely by Detweiler with 7 and Junis with 6. From the service line, Junis was outstanding with 5 aces, while Brennan and Orozco each added 2. At the net, Detweiler and Moomaw controlled play with 4.0 blocks apiece, and
Lexie Robokoff added 3.0. Brennan directed the offense with 25 assists, while Molenhouse anchored the back row with 19 digs to pace a strong all-around effort.
    The final hurdle for the Hawks at the Heartland Invite was #11 Sauk Valley Community College, who was unable to slow Heartland down. Detweiler led the charge with 17 kills. Also contributing to the offense was Brennan with four aces and 36 assists to finish out the match. The defense stayed consistent to the end as Molenhouse collected 21 digs and Detweiler got up with two blocks. With the 50 kills came another 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-22) victory.
    With the weekend full of wins the #4 Hawks' record improves to 13-2 and undefeated at home. On Wednesday, September 17th, the Hawks return on the road to take on John Wood Community College in Quincy, IL.
