After advancing from the Central District Tournament, the Hawks traveled to Enid, Oklahoma to participate in the NJCAA DII National Tournament. Coming into the week, the team was awarded the number 4 seed which would result in a bye. Heartland started play on Sunday, May 25th, and concluded on Tuesday, May 27th.
The first contest was a matchup against Madison Community College. The Hawks had trouble piecing their hits together as they took their first loss 1-9 in eight innings. The offense collected four hits but showed patience at the plate with eight total bases.
Kaden Griffitts put the Hawks on the board with one run batted in. On the mound,
Patrick Gardner pitched 4.1 innings only allowing three hits and two earned runs. The lefty surrendered three free bags through 19 batters faced, striking out one. Sophomore starter
Jacob O'Day took the loss for the Hawks throwing 3.2 innings with five hits allowed and four earned runs. As the game concluded, Heartland would have to continue to fight to stay alive in the tournament as they entered the secondary bracket.
Heartland returned the next day to compete against the Fredrick Community College Cougars. The Cougars got on the board first with two runs in the top of the first.
Jimmy Anderson pulled through in the bottom of the third with a single down the left-field line to tie the game up. The shortstop went 2-for-4 on the day.

Brady Davidson, and
Bennett Summers collected two hits each to keep the bats hot.
Dylan Nagle started things off defensively for the Hawks through seven innings. The All-Region pitcher keep the Cougar bats quiet only allowing three hits and two runs through 29 batters faced. The freshman showed out adding on five strikeouts with three free bases permitted.
Jake Gimbel closed things off for Fredrick with one hit and one run scored with three strikeouts in his outing. The Hawks completed the matchup 4-3 to stay alive another day.
To finish out the season, Heartland Baseball took a 3-8 loss over the Iowa Central Community College Tritons.
Trevor Rehnstrom stepped on the bump first for the Hawks. The pitcher gave up five hits and four runs over four innings.
Logan Barnett took the field for three innings only allowing two hits and one run, walking none, and striking out four batters through 12 at-bats. Closing out the game was freshman
Ryan Anderson who threw the last inning of play not allowing a single run, hit, or walk in the process. The offense was still able to collect six hits throughout the contest with Hennemann leading the charge. The sophomore second baseman accumulated one hit, one run, and an extra bag after being hit by a pitch in the first inning. The Hawks fought hard but came up short.
Heartland Hawks Baseball ended the season going 47-16 and 27-5 in conference play. The team ended with a .347 batting average, outhitting their opponents 665 to 456. Defensively, the pitching staff accumulated a 5.20 ERA with 433 strikeouts on the year.
