Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4
Last week, the Heartland Community College Volleyball team took on a strong week of competition. Moving to 27-2 on the season, the team showed an element of poise and precision that helped them reach the top.

To start the week, the Hawks traveled to Godfrey, IL, to face Lewis and Clark Community College. Heartland Community College dominated Lewis & Clark Community College behind strong individual performances across the board. Libby Detweiler led the offense with six kills and a .344 hitting percentage, while Lexie Robokoff stood out defensively with five blocks and added three aces from the service line. Brooklyn Brennan directed the attack with 26 assists, and Sam Molenhouse anchored the defense with a team-high 18 digs. Heartland's top performers fueled a commanding 3-0 victory.

Following the weekday matchup, Heartland was anxious to get the weekend started as the competition was going to be very fierce. The Hawks hosted the biggest tournament, the Heartland CC Invite, with 12 teams competing in two days of games. Stacked up against the home team were previously ranked #1 Cowley Community College, #2 Kansas City Kansas Community College, and #8 Johnson County Community College.

KCK was the first team in Heartland's path as they took the court on Friday, October 10th. Their last matchup came from the National tournament in 2024, where they competed for 3rd. Heartland was the team that ended up on top, and this match was no different. The Hawks completed the match, sweeping the Blue Devils 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-19) with amazing team play in all aspects of the game. Addison Pacha led the offensive attack with 16 kills, followed by Graci Junis with 11. Molenhouse contributed across multiple areas, recording 33 digs and adding two aces, while Brennan set the tone for the offense with an impressive 36 assists. At the net, Halle Moomaw anchored the defense with six blocks, helping Heartland maintain control throughout the match.

With the win over the #2 team, they looked ahead to the final match of the day. Their competitor held some history as a program against the Hawks. The #1-ranked Cowley CC has established itself as one of the most dominant programs in junior college volleyball. The Tigers entered the match riding a 104-match win streak, which includes back-to-back NJCAA Division II National Championships in 2023 and 2024, solidifying their reputation as a powerhouse on the national stage. That would all come to an end as the Hawks showed dominance and determination as they added on another sweep, taking the first match in an intense fight with the Hawks pulling ahead 34-32. Rounding out the match, Heartland set the tone and pace for the final two sets, taking them 25-20 and 25-15. Leading the strong charge for the Hawks was sophomore Middle Moomaw, who collected 11 kills with a .500 kill percentage for the entire match. Molenhouse stayed consistent in the back row with 11 digs.

Rounding out the Heartland Invite was another ranked match against #8 Johnson County, where the Hawks would leave the entire weekend without dropping a set. The final, 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-17), was a testament to their aggressive play, marked by 47 kills and 50 digs. Junis took off with 16 kills, and Brennan collected 40 assists with two aces. Libero Molenhouse added 17 to her total of 79 digs on the week.

With the impressive and unstoppable game play, it comes to no surprise that your Hawks are now nationally ranked as the top team in NJCAA DII Volleyball. Heartland volleyball is looking to continue its match play, showing why it deserves the position it has.
