Heartland finished seventh out of 15 teams at the Duane Chaney Collegiate Invitational after posting a score of 27-over-par. The Hawks leading the way were sophomore Joey Trupiano and freshman Greer Peters, who both finished tied for 22^nd.

T22 – Joey Trupiano (+7)

Trupiano came out in round one with an impressive score of 2-over-par with three birdies on the day, including two on the first four holes. The second day was his best day, with a score of 1-under-par. He started the day with a birdie, and then played par golf through the front nine, before bogeying holes 10 and 13. He bounced back on the final two holes to secure his best round. His last round was a tough one with a score of 6-over-par. He bogied four holes on the front nine before locking back in with three birdies on the back nine.

T22 – Greer Peters (+7)

Peters had rounds similar to Trupiano with a round of 4-over-par on the first round. He had four bogies on the front nine and a bogey and birdie on the back nine. In round two, Peters turned on the heat with four birdies overall and just one bogey for a score of 3-under-par. His las one was close to identical to Trupiano's –  a tough front nine followed by a solid back nine with a birdie for a score of 6-over-par.
The Hawks are on the course again next Monday in the MWAC Conference Tournament in Effingham, IL, at the Effingham Country Club.
