Women's Soccer
The women started things off and delivered an offensive showcase, piling on goals from start to finish in a commanding win. The Hawks spread the scoring across the roster, with
Valeria Agudelo leading the way in a standout performance. Agudelo netted five goals and added multiple assists, proving to be the spark plug of the attack.
    Supporting her up front,
Karima Marhabi also played a pivotal role, scoring twice while setting up several teammates with precise passes. The duo of Agudelo and Marhabi consistently broke down the defense, creating opportunities that Heartland's depth eagerly converted.
Contributions came from all corners of the lineup.
Josy Rogel tallied a pair of goals,
Valeria Maldonado added two of her own, and
Carla Vizuete chipped in with both a penalty-kick finish and an assist. Additional strikes from
Paula Igual, Alexandra Mendez, Anjelica Amezquita, Erin Carr, and
Jasmine Zuniga showcased the Hawks' balance and relentless offensive pressure. The women would finish the game 19-1 and increasing their record to 5-3-1.
Men's Soccer
The men had to follow the women's performance, which is a tough act to follow. The Hawks fell 0-2 to the Cobras at the end of the first half of the match. The team was ready to turn it around and respond in the 66th minute as
Amin Zamani scored to put the Hawks on board, thanks to an assist by
Gabriel Tonks. Parkland would add on two more goals to finish out the day. As the last five minutes of play began with the score at 1-4, Zamani wasn't finished and was able to put the ball in the back of the net with an assist by
Angelo Cuomo. The match would end 2-4, but not due to lack of effort on the Hawks' end.
The Hawks are off till the women return to play to host Kaskaskia College at the Corn Crib Saturday, September 20th.
