Women's Soccer Comes Out on Top Against Iowa Central

    At the start of the week on Monday, September 15th, the #7 Hawks hosted #8 Iowa Central Community College at the Corn Crib. With the team sitting at 3-3-1, Heartland was ready to come into the game to work on progressing to a winning record. The women were able to do just that, as sophomore Valeria Agudelo led the charge in the Hawks' 3-0 victory.

    Starting the game quickly in the first half was Josy Rosel, who assisted Valeria Agudelo with her first goal of the day. The second half was were Agudelo secured her hat trick as she was able to find the back of the net in the 46th and 77th minute. Sophomore Alyssa Bovis and freshman Dayana Tellz supported the Wing-Back by passing to her for the opportunity to score. The defense stayed strong, keeping Iowa Central at bay with only one shot on goal.

    With the win, the Hawks' record improved to 4-3-1 and they hope to hold onto the momentum as they are away on Thursday. That day, the men's and women's soccer teams travel to Champaign to face Parkland Community College.
