Box Score     The #4 Nationally ranked Heartland Hawks started the Region-24 Tournament with a statement. The bats were hot as the team accumulated 13 hits with 10 runs scored. Shortstop Jimmy Anderson led the Hawks at the plate with three hits in four at-bats. The freshman singled in the first and third inning before hitting a 2-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to enforce the run rule over Illinois Central College. The bottom of the third inning provided the most action as the Hawks capitalized on an error to score a run. Catcher Jake Parpet added to the chaos with a two-run homer to right field. Max Hennemann contributed by going 2-for-3 with two runs and two walks. On the mound from the pitching staff was Jacob O'Day, throwing all seven innings. The sophomore only allowed one run through the contest and collected a total of eight strikeouts in 25 batters faced. The defense was sound and didn't commit a single error. 

    The Hawks return to the Corn Crib tomorrow to face the John Wood Blazers.
