Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
Over the weekend, the Hawks finished the Region 24 Tournament with two matchups against the John Wood Blazers. To reach the Championship match, Heartland had to win to advance, and John Wood stood in the way. They took the first contest in a back-and-forth endeavor that led to a 9-4 victory. The following game between the Lewis & Clark Trailblazers and the John Wood Blazers determined who would compete against the Hawks. The Blazer ultimately won to advance to the Region 24 Championship. There, Heartland put their foot on the gas and never let up with an 8-6 victory to become the Region 24 Champions.

The first advancement was a quiet start until the Hawks offense busted it open in the bottom of the seventh with five runs. Brady Davidson led the Hawks at the plate, going 3-for-4 on the day with four runs batted in. The lineup displayed some patience by adding five walks through 31 at-bats. Overall, Heartland was able to score nine runs on eight hits. Dylan Nagle started on the mound, pitching 6.0 innings, allowing two earned runs on seven hits. The freshman finished the outing with one walk and six strikeouts. Sophomore lefty, Patrick Gardner, finished the contest with three innings pitching, only giving up one hit and one run after facing 13 batters. The Hawks were waiting to see who they would face the following day. The Blazers came out on top in walk-off fashion in an 8-7 victory.

In the Championship contest, the Hawks would consistently score through the nine-inning matchup with runs crossing the plate in five out of eight innings played. After falling behind 0-1 in the first inning, the Hawks would respond with three runs scored, all with two outs. After third baseman Jesse Contreras walked, shortstop Jimmy Anderson homered to left field to provide Heartland with a 2-1 lead. Tommy Atkinson batted in the last run of the inning on a line drive to center. Anderson was consistent through the contest, going 3-for-4. The bats stayed hot with 14 hits across the board. Trevor Rehnstrom earned the win on the mound through 6.1 innings pitched. The righty gave up four earned runs and seven hits. Ryan Anderson was the closer for the pitching staff with two innings pitched. The sophomore only allowed two hits and one run to score.

Heartland battled but ended up on top in an 8-6 victory over John Wood. The Hawks now wait till the weekend to travel to Missouri for the 2025 District Tournament.
