This weekend, Heartland took on the Lincoln Land Loggers in the fourth Region 24 match-up of the 2025 season. With a 9-3 (.750 PCT) conference record, the Hawks look to improve their #3 spot in the standings.

The Hawks hosted the Loggers at the Corn Crib before heading to Springfield the following day. Game one started with a pitcher's duel as Jacob O'Day took the mound for the Hawks. O'Day started the game going two innings without allowing a hit or run. After pitching six and two-third innings, the right-handed pitcher gave up three hits, and three runs (two earned), and sat down a total of six batters. Ryan Anderson came in with the clean up throwing just over two innings without allowing a hit or run. Offensively, the Hawks showed up significantly with their bats scoring a total of 9 runs on 15 hits. Tony Konopiots started things off for the Hawks securing the first hit in the second. The first basemen finished the day 2 for 5 and added a run in the fourth where the Hawks were able to pull ahead on a string of hits. In the bottom of the sixth, back-to-back pitches led to back-to-back homeruns by Jake Parpet and Luke Ramsey that gave the Hawks a 3-run lead. Brady Davidson led the Hawks to a 9-3 victory over the Loggers with his performance at the plate. The designated hitter showed up and went 3 for 5 on the day with a run and an RBI to show for it.
Game two started shortly after and Lincoln Land made quick work on their return. The Loggers tacked on four runs on four hits through three innings. That wasn't until the Hawks showed up big at the plate to tie the game up on a solo homerun from Ramsey (his second of the day) and Kaden Griffitts bringing in three more runs with a shot over the fence. Konopiots contributed with another homerun to put the Hawks ahead by one. Going into the bottom of the seventh with the game tied at six, the Hawks took the victory in walk-off fashion when third baseman Charlie Linderman doubled, bringing in the winning run. Pitcher Dylan Nagle earned the win for the Hawks only allowing three hits and two runs in three innings pitched. Michael Belbot also took his turn on the mound for one inning without giving up a hit or free base. The Hawks won 7-6 and were able to collect 12 hits at the plate while defensively the pitchers collectively surrendered three free bases, but were able to sit down six batters on the day.

The following day the Hawks were on the road to finish out the series in Springfield, IL. The team was not able to get much going as they did not collect any hits in the first game. Jimmy Anderson was able to get on for both at-bats on balls. Trevor Rehnstrom took the loss, starting and throwing three innings before Tyler Ledvina made an appearance at the mound. The Hawks dropped game three 0-10 before returning the next game with a statement.
The final matchup of the conference series was one to remember as the Hawks took the victory by scoring 20 runs, 14 of those being done in the sixth. Linderman gave Heartland the lead in the top of the fourth with a double that scored two. Jesse Contreras led the team offensively going 3 for 5 scoring one run and securing three RBI's. Max Hennemann and Parpet showed patience at the plate with three walks each. Through 38 at-bats, the Hawks were able to collect 13 hits and 11 walks. Defensively, the position players were sound while the pitching staff held the Loggers to two runs. Logan Barnett earned the win for the Hawks throwing for five innings and facing 27 batters. The right-handed pitcher gave up four hits and one run with two strikeouts. Casey Giemzik came in relief throwing one inning only surrendering one hit and one run before the conclusion of the game.
