    On Friday, November 7th, the Heartland Women's Soccer team hosts the Great Lakes District Championship. The matchup against #10 Schoolcraft College, the #4 nationally ranked Hawks, was highly anticipated. The Hawks came into this contest with 13 wins and three losses compared to the Ocelots' 14 wins and two losses.
    The Heartland Hawks started strong with pressure and continued it on both sides of the field. Breaking up the scoreless play for the Hawks was freshman
Josy Rogel, who found the back of the net unassisted in the 24th minute, setting the difference. Increasing the lead, sophomore
Valeria Agudelo started the second half with a goal, assisted by
Carla Vizuete and Karima Marihabi. To finish out the 90-minute match, the Hawks fell back to the player who started things off. Rogel ended with another goal, assisted by freshman
Dayana Tellez and Vizuete. Â
    With the 3-0 victory over Schoolcraft, the Hawks advance to the National Tournament in Wichita, Kansas, on November 16th.
