This week the men and women soccer teams would face off against Hawkeye Community College on September 14th at the Corn Crib before returning to competition in Missouri on the 16th. Both teams would end up going undefeated pushing the men to a winning record of 5-3 while the women extend their record to 8-1-1.  

Women's Soccer vs. Hawkeye Community College 

The women started off the Saturday with a 6-2 victory over the Red Tails. Starting the match off quickly was Ainara Aldeano finding the back of the net in the 1st minute of the match. It wasn't long after Hawkeyes Morgan Aikey would respond with a goal in that same minute, leaving the match at 1-1. Securing the lead would be Aldeano scoring in the 2nd minute with an assist by Carla Vizuete and adding an unassisted goal in the 39th minute. To close off the first half, YeYe Padilla scored with another assist from Vizuete in the 41st minute.  

Starting the second half with an assist from Jada Lee, it would be Maria Hernandez scoring in the 47th minute. Hawkeye would respond minutes later before Floor Assmann would finish things up in the 65th minute by scoring due to an assist from Valentina Bernal.  

Women's Soccer vs. Jefferson College 

Play on Monday began with the women's 3-1 victory over the Vikings. Leading the Hawks was Valentina Bernal with a goal assisted by Maria Hernandez to start the game with an additional unassisted goal to secure the lead. Finishing off the match the match was Morgan Stanton tacking on another goal for the win.  

The women have the week off before returning play against John Wood on the 24th. 

Men's Soccer vs. Hawkeye Community College 

Following the women, the men would show an impressive 4-0 victory over Hawkeye. Dani Vidal would start the game off early with a goal in the 3rd minute of the match being assisted by Joe Delaney. Daniel Richards would lead the Hawks with 2 additional goals in the 15th and 22nd second minute with both assists coming from Fernando Suarez. The final goal would come from Aaron Garcia Alonso, unassisted, in the 2nd half at the 86th minute.  

Men's Soccer vs. Jefferson College 

The men returned to play with a face-off against Jefferson College in Missouri. The Hawks walked away with a 2-1 victory. Joe Delaney started the game off with an unassisted goal. Followed by Guilherme Tomas securing the win, scoring with an assist by Luca Hubner.  

Men's return to play on Sunday in Galesburg against Carl Sandburg.
