Box Score 2 Heartland Soccer opened conference play this Wednesday at home when the men's and women's team went head to head with Parkland College. The women improved their record to 6-1-1 while the men sit at 3-3 on the year.

Women vs. Parkland
The women put their foot on the gas early on and were able to shut out the Cobras to begin the afternoon. Jada Lee put pressure on early, scoring in the 5
th minute with an assist by
Valentina Bernal. Bernal also contributed with 2 goals (13
th and 24
th) one being assisted by
Carla Vizuete and the other by
Maria Hernandez.
Floor Assmann score for the Hawks in the 21
st minute with Vizuete adding on another assist.
Hernandez was able to find the back of the net in the 29
th minute, with
Viviana Sanchez contributing the assist, to put the Hawks up 5-0. Finishing things off was
Valeria Agudelo scoring two goals (47
th and 88
th) both being assisted by
Juana Bulla. The Women would finish with a 7-0 victory.

Men vs. Parkland
After a slow start to the match, the men's team was able to pull ahead with a 3-1 victory over the NJCAA DII No. 8-ranked Cobras in the second game of the day.
Parkland College's Shion Hayashi was able to score early in the 18
th minute during a PK to put the Cobras ahead. Which would be the last time they would connect before
Luca Hubner led the Hawks by scoring twice in the 43
rd and 56
th minute of the match. Assisting Hubner was
Daniel Richards and
Joe Delaney. To seal the deal in the 89
th minute was
Guilherme Tomas with an assist by
Dani Vidal.
Both the men's and women's team will return to the Corn Crib on Saturday to host Hawkeye Community College.
