Box Score 2 Heartland soccer traveled to Burlington, Iowa on Monday to take on Southeastern Community College, as the Hawks pulled away for two victories. The women's team improved to 5-0 overall and extended its scoreless streak with a 7-0 win, while a late goal for the men's team lifted the Hawks to a 2-1 victory over the Blackhawks.

Women vs. Southeastern
The women's team continued its impressive start to the season, as the Hawks shut-out Southeastern to begin the afternoon.
Ainara Aldeano kicked-off the scoring for Heartland in the 11
th minute on a
Valentina Bernal assist to make it 1-0. Aldeano would score again in the 58
th minute, with
Maria Hernandez contributing the assist.

Bernal led the charge for the Hawks with three goals (28
th, 38
th, 88
th). Hernandez supplied two assists.
Lena Muller scored her second goal of the season in the 18
th minute and another in the 52nd minute, while
Yeirdan Padilla,
Sherlyn Avalos and
Camila Rico each finished with an assist in the contest.

The women's team returns to action at 4 pm Sept. 21 at Parkland College.

Men vs. Southeastern
After struggling of late, the men's team was able to get back on track with a 2-1 win over NJCAA DII No. 9-ranked Southeastern in the second game of the day, keyed by a late goal in the 74
th minute off of a
Raul Oliu assist.

Joe Delaney started the scoring for the Hawks (2-3-2) with a goal in the 31
st minute on another Oliu assist. Southeastern's Juan Hernandez connected in the 50
th minute to tie the contest at 1-1 before Richards' deciding score. Goalkeeper
Kevin Lambert helped keep the Blackhawks scoreless for the remainder of the match, as the sophomore finished with four saves.

The men's team will return to action at 2 pm Thursday, as the Hawks welcome Southwestern Illinois College to The Corn Crib.
