Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Heartland women's soccer team advanced to the District Championship Sunday in Park Hills, Mo. after defeating Mineral Area College in Friday's semifinal match. The Hawks would ultimately fall to Southwestern Illinois College 1-0 in the championship match, however.

In Friday's semifinal match, the Hawks received a first half goal by Lina Lopez in the 39th minute of the contest. Eve Nevarez then connected with Zara Dominguez in the 66th minute to extend Heartland's lead to 2-0. Goalkeeper Sofia Mosquera finished the game with 10 saves for the Hawks.

The Hawks will await their fate for a potential at-large bid to the NJCAA DII National Tournament on Tuesday, as seedings and pairing will be announced via the NJCAA Network and the NJCAA Soccer Twitter page. Soccer Nationals will take place Nov. 14-19 in Tuscon, AZ.
