The Heartland volleyball team concluded the regular season on a winning note, as the Hawks won four matches at the Parkland College Tournament on Friday and Saturday.

McHenry County College was the foe for the Hawks' opening game on Friday, as Heartland swept the Scots in three sets. Samantha Hovey poured in 26 assists in the victory, while Kennedy Conrad added 16 digs. Kaitlin Dean tossed in 8 kills and 8 digs.

The Hawks then faced-off with Sauk Valley Community College on Friday. After dropping the first set 25-22, the Hawks rallied for three straight set wins. Dean led the Hawks with 13 kills and 16 digs. Hovey finished with 36 assists, 8 kills and 7 digs. Kaitlyn Conway added 17 digs for the Hawks.

Heartland returned Saturday morning with a matchup against Carl Sandburg College, as the Hawks took home a win in three sets. Hovey paced the Hawks with 35 assists, 6 digs and 4 kills. Dean contributed 13 kills and 12 digs, while Conrad finished with 18 digs.

The final opponent for the Hawks at Parkland on Saturday morning was No. 16-ranked Moraine Valley Community College. After winning the first two sets, Moraine Valley won set three 25-21. The Hawks returned the favor with a 25-21 set four victory to end the tournament at 4-0. Dean (19 kills, 18 digs), Hovey (40 assists, 13 digs, 11 kills) and Conrad (21 digs) once again led the Hawks, who improved to 30-6 on the year.

The Hawks will return to action at 1 p.m. Saturday at Illinois Central College for the Region-24 District Tournament against John Wood. The winner of this matchup will face the winner of ICC and Lincoln Trail College at 3 p.m. Saturday, with the chance to advance to the National Tournament in Cedar Rapids, IA.
