Box Score 4 The Heartland soccer teams continued their winning ways this past week, as the Hawks turned in a 4-0 record entering the home stretch of the regular season. The men's squad finished 3-0 on the week, while the women's team defeated John Wood Community College on Saturday.

The men's team opened things up with a home matchup with Illinois Central College on Tuesday, as the Hawks brought home a 3-0 victory.
Jaedyn Saunders started off the scoring early for the Hawks with a goal in the 4
th minute.
Raul Oliu followed with a score in the 75
th minute off of an assist by
Mario Sapena. Sapena would then add Heartland's final goal in the 84
th minute, with Oliu being credited with the assist. Goalie
Gonzalo Castells contributed 2 saves.

On Thursday, the men's team then traveled to Southwestern Illinois College, leaving with another 3-0 win. Saunders again netted the first goal of the game in the 13
th minute for the Hawks, with
Marcos Mateos being credited with the assist. Sapena followed with goals in the 75
th and 76
th minute. Castells finished with 4 saves.

John Wood Community College was the site for the remaining two games of the week for the Hawks. The women's team opened up the day with a dominating 9-0 win over the Blazers to improve to 7-1-1 on the year.
Zara Dominguez led the charge for the Hawks with 5 goals and an assist on the afternoon.
Lina Lopez finished with 3 goals and 4 assists, while
Carla Gimenez also found the net. Goalie
Sofia Mosquera contributed 1 save.

Heartland's men's team followed with a 4-0 victory to move its overall record to 10-1.
Jino Agbassa opened the scoring for the Hawks with a goal in the 16
th minute off of an
Alex Benitez assist.
Giovanni Pezzi followed with a netter in the 25
th minute.
Oier Izco rounded out the scoring with goals in the 86
th and 89
th minute. Castells finished with 4 saves.

The men's team will wrap-up the regular season at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Corn Crib against Lincoln Trail College. The women's squad will face-off with Lincoln Land Community College at 1 p.m. at home Saturday before traveling to Kaskaskia College on Oct. 15.
