Women's Soccer Falls to Southwestern Illinois College
Hawks Look to Pick Up Win Next Week
Â
NORMAL, Illinois - Heartland Women's Soccer failed to find the back of the net as SWIC put five on the board last night at the Corn Crib.
For the first five minutes, it seemed as even a match as one could write up between the Hawks and the visiting squad from Belleville, Illinois. However, SWIC found the net first in the 5th minute to take an early lead on the Hawks. Three more goals followed in the first half as the Hawks went into halftime trailing by four, looking to cut that deficit in the second half.
The Hawks slowed SWIC down in the second half, pressuring harder on defense and attacking the net more, recording five shots on goal. SWIC's Addison Hanusek added the only goal of the second half in the 77th minute of the match, recording two goals and one assist on the night for the visitors. The match ended with a final score of 5-0, giving SWIC the seventh win of their season.Â
Next home match for Heartland Women's Soccer is on Wednesday, October 3rd at 4:00 PM at the Corn Crib against Illinois Central College. Admission is free.Â
