Women's Soccer to Face ICC in Playoffs
Hawks Looking to Extend Win Streak to Three Games
Â
NORMAL, Illinois - The Heartland Hawks Women's Soccer team will travel to East Peoria, Illinois on Thursday to take on the Illinois Central College Panthers in the first round of the playoffs. The two teams met once in the regular season, with the Panthers taking a 2-1 win over the Hawks.
Coming off of their first shutout win of the season, the Hawks have the momentum boost they need to knock off ICC on their own turf. In the regular season match between Heartland and ICC, the Hawks were inches from a draw on a push late in the match. Going into the 89th minute, the Hawks were down 2-0, but a goal from
Makayla Stockov brought the Hawks deficit to one. Less than a minute later
Joah Howland narrowly missed on the breakaway with the game tying shot at her feet. Â
PLAYERS TO WATCH

Joah Howland
ICC: Izzy Matra, Kaylee Johnston
The match will kick off at 6:00 PM on Thursday, October 25th at the CougarPlex in East Peoria, Illinois.Â
