Coach Dekire enters his first season as an assistant volleyball coach at Heartland. Prior to Heartland, Dekire graduated from Illinois State University in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. Prior to ISU, Dekire played men's club volleyball at Lewis University before transferring to ISU in 2018, where he also played club volleyball.
Dekire got his coaching career started at the Illini Elite Volleyball Club, where he led his 15u squad to an AAU National Championship in 2021. He has also been involved in multiple clinics, lessons and camps there.
Dekire is originally from Plainfield, Ill. and currently resides in Normal. He is heading into his second year in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Heartland.
