Jovany Macias

Jovany Macias joined the Heartland Community College Athletics staff in April 2019 as the Head Coach of the Men’s and Women’s Soccer teams. He comes to Heartland from Western Texas College where he led the Westerners to the NJCAA Region V Championship three years in a row. In the 2018-19 season, Coach Macias was named Coach of the Year for the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference. Macias also spent a year as a volunteer coach at his alma mater, Texas A&M International University.
 
As a soccer athlete at Texas A&M International University, Coach Macias was a two-time team captain and earned 1st Team All-Heartland Conference and NSCAA DII All-South Central Region 1st Team. Upon graduation, Macias played professionally with Sporting Kansas City (MLS), Laredo Heat (PDL), Upward Stars (NPSL) and Midland-Odessa Sockers (PDL). 
 
Macias graduated from Texas A&M International in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in fitness and sports.
