Abe Henkel is a entering his fifth year with the Hawks Baseball team. Henkel serves as the manager and statistician for the team and assists with other jobs as needed.
Henkel has been working in the sports industry for a number of years. He spent 3 years with the Normal Cornbelters, when they were an independent league team, as the clubhouse manager. He also spent 4 years with the Peoria Chiefs, a minor league affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, working as a groundskeeper.
Henkel is from El Paso, Illinois and is a graduate of El Paso Gridley High School. He is currently enrolled online at Southern New Hampshire University and plans to graduate with a degree in Sport Management.
