Heartland volleyball took care of business at home Wednesday night against the Spoon River Snappers. The Hawks jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in set one before the Snappers responded – resulting in a close set that ended with the Hawks on top 25-18. Set two was pure dominance from Heartland, commanding the net to secure a season-best set win of 25-5. Set three was a lot of the same for the Hawks, winning the set 25-11 after an
Elizabeth Schuster block. The Hawks had four outside hitters with five or more kills, including
Elena Kvasnicka,
Mya Marshall,
Ava Yeakel and
Addison Pacha. It was the most kills in a match this season for Marshall. The Hawks hit .366 as a team and amassed 13 service aces.
They are back in action Friday at the Lincoln Land Invitational against Rend Lake at 1:00 p.m. and East Central at 3:00 p.m.
