Volleyball Sweeps Lincoln Land for First MWAC Win
Heartland Volleyball continued their winnings ways with a dominant 3-0 match against Lincoln Land last night. The Hawks were led by a duo of outside hitters –
Ava Yeakel and
Addison Pacha.
No. 6 Heartland def. Lincoln Land, 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-20)
Heartland dominated all night, but really flexed their muscles in set one. They had 14 kills in 25 attempts for a hitting percentage of .440 and only had three errors. Set two and three were the same – an explosive Hawks offense with a stifling defensive setup. Yeakel and Pacha were dominant, totaling 14 kills each and both hitting over a .300 hitting percentage. Elizabeth Schuster was impressive on offense too, notching five kills in eight attempts for a hitting percentage of .625. On defense, everyone showed up to play, with four different people having five or more digs. Yeakel and Pacha, once again were leading the charge on defense with 10 and 11 digs, respectively. Setter
Reece Elaine Harrison was business as usual again with 32 assists.
The Hawks are back on the court again this weekend, for two tough matchups against No. 1 Kirkwood and No. 15 DMACC at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
