    On April 25th, the Heartland softball team traveled to Danville, competing against the Jaguars in a conference doubleheader.
    Game one was an intense back-and-forth endeavor as the lead changed multiple times. The offense was able to capture the lead 3-1 in the top of the third when
Sophia Beckett doubled, scoring two runs, and
Shelby Oakley singled, scoring one run. Oakley found the bases twice with another hit at the top of the sixth.
Tayla Eaves stayed on the mound to complete game one with seven hits and two earned runs, walking three and striking out four. The Hawks ended up dropping the first game 3-6 after a tough seven innings of play.
    The Heartland offense and defense couldn't keep up with the Danville Jaguars in game two as they were only able to secure one hit and two walks through 15 at-bats. Freshman
Keearrah Brown was on the mound through the five innings with one walk and two strikeouts through 25 batters. Ultimately, the Hawks lost game two 0-8.
    To finish out the regular season, the Heartland softball team returns to the Corn Crib on April 26th for Sophomore Day against their final opponent, the John Wood Community College Blazers.
