    On February 18th, the Heartland Hawks took the field at home as they hosted the College of Lake County Lancers for one 9-inning game.
    The Hawks got off to a strong start at the plate and maintained their consistency throughout the game. Leading the charge was first baseman

TJ Jakubowski collected two free bases, scoring two when put on base. Walking off the game with the run-rule was Troyner, who added on to his performance with a two-run homerun, bringing the final score to 10 on 11 hits. The pitching staff held its own and was able to hold off the Lancers for the eight innings. Righty,
Dylan Nagle, started and completed four innings, only allowing three hits and one free base through 17 batters faced. Following Nagle was left-handed pitcher
Tyler Ledvina. The sophomore threw three innings, striking out three batters and keeping the batters off the bases with no walks accumulated. The closer for the pitching staff,
Nick Tickle, finished the final inning, only facing three batters and sitting down one.
    The Hawks took the game 10-0 and are ready to come back tomorrow even stronger. Heartland is set to face Waubonsee Community College at the Corn Crib tomorrow, the 19th, for another single 9-inning game.
