Box Score 1 | Box Score 2     After the 0-4 start in Alabama, Heartland Softball was looking to turn things around to secure the first win of the 2025 and for Head Coach Krystal Goodman. On Sunday the Hawks traveled to Hillsboro, Missouri to face Jefferson College for a doubleheader.

              Jefferson College was able to get on the board first. But the Hawks took back the lead in the second when Kendyl Hurt was able to make solid contact driving in two runs with a single. Hurt would lead Heartland throughout the game with four runs batted in. Madi Smith and Natalie Nenne each collected two hits apiece. Brooklyn Ogden started things off on the mound striking out three batters through three innings. Cara Farnam would come in to relieve throwing four innings, striking out five, and only walking three. The Hawks were able to secure the first win, 13-9, with help from all sides of the field and the bats at the plate.

              The second game followed with a strong performance from Shayne Immke at the plate. The sophomore infielder went 4-4 with three home runs and six RBIs. The Hawks were also able to show aggressive base running with three stolen bases and patience at the plate with a total of seven walks. Offensively, Tayla Eaves took the mound for three innings with three strikeouts while only walking two. Due to conditions, the game would end in the 6th inning with a 10-10 tie. The Hawks improved their record to 1-4-1 and are ready to improve this week.

              Heartland will have their home opener this week on Friday, March 7th where they face Lake Land College at the Corn Crib.
