Volleyball Continues to Dominate the Regular Season

    The Women's Volleyball team traveled to East Peoria, IL, to compete in a Region 24 matchup against 13th-ranked Illinois Central College. The Hawks showed tremendous cohesiveness and fluidity through the three-match sweep. Once the team found their rhythm, it was hard to slow down as they took the match 25-18, 25-22, 25-15.

    The momentum the Hawks were able to generate was undeniable as they accumulated a .452 and .500 attacking percentage in the first and third sets, respectively. The offense curated 45 kills and 6 aces while the defense kept the ball alive with 48 digs and 10 blocks at the net. Region 24 Player of the Week, Halle Moomaw, led the Hawks with 13 kills and 6 blocks to finish the match. Libero Sam Molenhouse collected 13 digs, and setter Brooklyn Brennan contributed 3 assists.

    The Hawks progress to a 23-2 record and look to improve after a busy week. The Hawks kick off their week of games with a match against the Lewis and Clark Trailblazers. Shortly after, Heartland takes another weekend to host their biggest tournament of the year. The team is ready for some fierce competition as they are set to face the #1, #2, and #8 nationally-ranked teams.
