Box Score 4 This past weekend the Hawks hosted the first of two home tournaments and dominated by ending with 4 wins by not dropping a single set. Last Wednesday, they also competed in Danville against DACC, winning in 3 sets. This week of competition led to a 16-3 record, which they hope to improve in future matches.
To start off the tournament, the Hawks faced Harper College and won 3-0 (25-13, 25-14, 25-17) with many contributing to the match. Mairen Mannon led the team with 8 kills, 5 aces, and 7 blocks. Rhiannon Robertson had 12 kills to finish the match. Also adding to the mix was Brooklyn Brennan with 21 assists.
To finish off the first day of the tournament, Southeastern Iowa Community College was the next competitor. The Hawks would sweep in a 3-0 win (25-19, 25-23, 25-9) with Mannon taking charge once again. She added 14 kills to the match with 8 blocks as well. Addison Qualters contributed 19 assists and Sam Molenhouse added 18 digs.
The second day of the tournament started with another 3-0 victory (25-14, 25-13, 25-11) over North Iowa Area CC. Qualters contributed with 6 aces and 11 assists. Brennan added 21 assists while Mannon and Robertson led with 8 and 7 kills respectively. Graci Junis also showed out with 9 digs in the match.
The final match of the season was a match-up against John A. Logan College, ending once again in a 3-0 win (25-15, 25-17, 25-13). Junis showed out with 7 digs as well as 7 aces. Kendra Nachtrieb added 7 kills along with Robertson adding 6. Brennan finished the match with 15 assists and Qualters with 10.
Hawks vs. Danville
Finishing off the week, the Hawks faced off against the Danville Jaguars which led to a undefeated week. The girls had an impressive 3-0 win (25-15, 25-6, 25-18) with the team contributing big in all areas. Mannon once again came out strong with 10 kills with 5 blocks. Chloe Janssen also contributed on defense with 5 blocks as well. Junis also added 13 digs and Brennan with 16 assists to finish out the match.
The Hawks have the weekend off before continuing to play at home against Lewis and Clark Community College on Wednesday the 25th.
