In a rematch from three weeks prior, Heartland men's soccer traveled to East Peoria Saturday to battle Illinois Central College. Despite a late comeback effort, the Hawks would ultimately fall to 1-3-2 on the season with a 2-1 loss to the Cougars.

After the match remained scoreless through the first 30 minutes of play, ICC's Jan Buchcik broke the scoreless tie with a goal in the 33
rd minute to make it 1-0 in favor of the Cougars. Yahir Meza added a score in the 55
th minute for the Cougars to extend the advantage to 2-0.

The Hawks managed just one goal in the 89
th minute, as
Anderson Micolta connected for his first goal of the season with
Joe Delaney contributing the assist. Heartland finished with 11 shots, four of which were on goal. Goalkeeper
Oliver Butler finished with five saves.

The men's and women's teams return to action beginning at 1:15 pm Monday at Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa.
