Men's Soccer Looking Ahead at Playoffs
Hawks Play Host to John Wood Community College in First Round
NORMAL, Illinois - The Heartland Hawks Men's Soccer program wrapped up the regular season on October 11th, recording the most wins in program history. The 10-4-0 Hawks will face off against John Wood Community College on Wednesday at 2:00 PM at the Corn Crib.
The mid-week matchup between the Hawks and the Blazers will be the second time the teams have squared off against each other in the 2018 season. The first time the two teams met, the Hawks took the match with a 1-0 victory, with the lone goal coming from sophomore defender
Darren Kavanagh in the 41st minute. That win would give John Wood their first loss of the season, going 7-0-0 in their first games of the year, and would serve as the best start of a season the Hawks have recorded since the program's inception.
Evenly matched in their first meeting in the regular season, the Blazers struggled late in the season losing five of their last six games, while the Hawks ended the season on a three-game win streak.
