John Wood def. Heartland, 2-1
It was a quiet first half between these two conference foes last Saturday before it started to heat up in the second half. John Wood scored a goal in the 59
th minute before Heartland responded with a CAM
Max Huber goal in the 69
th minute. Heartland had all the momentum, the entire game, but made a massive mistake in the final seconds when they committed a turnover at midfield. The turnover led to a John Wood shot that hit the post, but bounced out right to a John Wood player who scored to win the game for the Blazers. Despite the loss, the Hawks were firing shots all day, totaling 16 on the day. Forward
Logan Lelm and wing
Osiel Bedolla both had two shots on goal to lead Heartland.
The Hawks look to bounce back against Illinois Central at The Corn Crib in their next match.
