Jeff Trask brings a wealth of running and coaching experience to the Heartland Hawks cross country program. Coach Trask is well-known in the local coaching ranks having served 16 years high school coaching experience at Heyworth High School after starting the program in 2003. Trask was an All-American cross country runner at Danville Area Community College and led the Jaguars to a second place National finish in 1991. Trask went on to run for Eastern Illinois University where he was MVP and captain and a two-time All-Conference runner for the Panthers in 1992 and 1993.Â

Trask was an All-State (11th place) finisher in the 1989 Illinois High School Cross Country State Meet running for Oakwood-Fithian High School.Â

Coach Trask loves to run and looks forward to sharing his enthusiasm and experience with the Heartland runners.Â

Trask is a 1994 graduate of Eastern Illinois University. He currently serves as the Illinois Region Director for McElroy Metals.

Coach Trask and his wife, Kelly, live in Heyworth. They have four children.
