Jeffrey Wells joined the Heartland Community College athletic staff as assistant golf coach in June of 2019. He comes to Heartland as a longtime resident of the Bloomington-Normal area and brings a great deal of experience in the amateur golf scene.

The son of former Division 1 player and coach Rusty Wells, Jeffrey played 4 years at Murray State University (Murray, KY), where they were 2-time Ohio Valley Conference Champions. Jeffrey captained the team for his final 2 years.

In addition to his Division 1 career, Jeffrey built a solid amateur record playing in many local, state, and national events. He has competed in 5 USGA events, The North & South Amateur , Baltusrol Invitational , Western Amateur, and many Illinois state-wide events.

Jeffrey graduated from Murray State University in 1991 where he earned a degree in Public Relations and a minor in English. He has been assistant coach at Normal Community High School for the last 3 years.
