Men's Soccer Defeat #10 Parkland College

Hawks Remain Undefeated with Fourth Consecutive Win

Normal, Illinois - The men went on the road this past Tuesday and took down a top-10 team in the nation in MWAC foe Parkland College. This is the second time in three days Heartland has beaten a nationally ranked opponent. All of our goals were recorded in the first half of this game. Below is the list of the players who scored goals from both teams in a match that ended with a 6-2 victory for the Hawks.

- Saul Amaya scored his 1st goal of the season with an assist from Bryan Alfaro (5')
- Daniel Duran secured a penalty kick for his 2nd goal of the year (8')
- Bryan Alfaro scored off an assist from Heriberto Garza for goal #2 this year (19')
- Iram Baylon continues to lead the team with goals scored as he drops in his 5th of year with an assist from Alfaro (32')
- Alberto Ortiz (36') and Rodrigo Botello (45') score their first goals of the year.
- This was Ortiz' first career goal as a Heartland Hawk
- Yu Sasaki scored for Parkland with an assist from Pablo Diaz (65')
- Yu Sasaki scored again, but this time it was off of a penalty kick (83')

The schedule does not get any easier for the men's team as they will travel to Estherville, Iowa on Saturday, September 14th to take on the #14 nationally ranked Lakers of Iowa Lakes Community College. Kick-off is set for 12:00 PM.
