Hawks Move On to Semi-Final Round

Women's Soccer Only Needed One to Advance

Normal, Illinois - Heartland defeated Kaskaskia on Tuesday for the second time in two weeks. This time the Hawks were the #4 seed in the Region 24 Tournament and played host to the #5 seed Blue Devils. Only one goal was scored in the match between both sides, but it was all the Hawks needed as their defense held strong in a gritty performance.

The lone goal of the day came from Montanna Stewart in the 12th minute. Joana Aguilar took the ball down the left side of the pitch into the goalie box and attempted a ground pass across the box to another Heartland player. Kaskaskia goalie, Courtney Brewer, punched the would-be pass away from the Heartland player. However, Stewart was trailing the entire way and was in perfect position to knock in her 6th goal of the season.
